DESCRIPTION:Gajah Gallery Singapore presents Days That Slip Away Untouched\, a solo exhibition by Indonesian artist Uji “Hahan” Handoko Eko Saputro. Following its debut in Jakarta\, the exhibition continues Hahan’s investigation into the shifting relationship between physical reality and its digital mediation. \nWorking across painting\, sculpture\, and sound\, Hahan examines how perception and meaning are conditioned within digitally mediated environments. His work probes the terms by which images and experiences are encountered\, tracing how distinctions between the real\, the constructed\, and the circulated are produced\, and how authenticity is negotiated in their wake. \nIn contrast to the immediacy of digital systems\, Hahan’s practice emphasises slowness and material engagement. Developed in close dialogue with the Ace House collective and his studio artisans\, the works emerge through what he describes as an “aesthetic kinship”\, a process rooted in shared labour and collective exchange. Across the exhibition\, Hahan appropriates imagery from works by Raden Saleh\, Tomás Sánchez\, and Walter Spies\, using these references to reflect on how knowledge\, power\, and ways of seeing have shaped historical narratives. In doing so\, the works draw attention to the instability of images in an era governed by algorithmic visibility\, where depth and context risk being flattened.Within these compositions\, moments of disruption appear through hybrid figures and altered landscapes\, introducing a sense of dissonance that unsettles familiar visual frameworks. These gestures operate as subtle “glitches”\, interrupting dominant modes of representation and\nopening up alternative ways of seeing and understanding. \nThe exhibition title\, Days That Slip Away Untouched\, speaks to an awareness of time that often passes without full attention. Across his practice\, Hahan foregrounds attentiveness —to history\, process\, and everyday experience— as a means of resisting this condition. Here\, authenticity is approached as something continually negotiated within the conditions of contemporary life.

The ceramic works focus on shared rituals of care\, revisiting moments of dining through hand-built vessels. The illustrations turn inward\, where the fragmented perspectives of horses reflect the complexities of identity and our ongoing search for self. \nMeet at Eye Level invites viewers to adjust their stance and discover new ways of encountering animals\, both beside us and within us.

DESCRIPTION:Of Light and Matter explores the relationship between light\, materiality\, and the natural world through a diverse collection of paintings\, mixed-media works\, and sculptural forms. The exhibition brings together artists whose practices are rooted in observation\, transformation\, and reflection\, inviting viewers to reconsider how we perceive and connect with our surroundings.\n\n\n\nNature is never merely a backdrop in these works. Mineral crystals pressed into paper\, mirrors casting full spectrums of colour\, figures reaching toward streaks of light breaking through storm clouds\, and landscapes distilled into rhythmic patterns all reveal the subtle interplay between physical matter and intangible experience. Through their distinct artistic languages\, the participating artists explore themes of renewal\, resilience\, memory and wonder.\n\nThe exhibition brings together nine contemporary artists from Singapore\, China and Japan\, each offering a unique perspective on the relationship between light\, materiality and the natural world. Participating artists include Daiki Nishimura\, Karina D. Simon\, Kim Xu\, Wang Jiang\, Yin Chua\, Zhang Qiao\, Zhang Yihan\, Zhang Ziheng and Zhu Feng.\n\n\n\n\nThe exhibition is presented by Y Art Project in collaboration with Art Seasons Gallery. Through this partnership\, the two galleries share a commitment to supporting contemporary artists\, fostering artistic exchange and creating meaningful opportunities for public engagement with the arts.

The Shape of Return looks beneath that surface: at ancestry\, craftsmanship\, folklore\, environmental vulnerability\, and the ongoing negotiation between tradition and modernity in a small island nation shaped equally by story. \nPresented collaboratively by Suvãsthi\, Oaga Art Resort\, and Oevaali Art Gallery\, this exhibition situates Maldivian contemporary art within a broader regional conversation\, while remaining firmly rooted in its oceanic heritage.

Alongside the “brick paintings\,” the exhibition features a site-specific iteration of her Runaways sculptures and four video works produced between 2010–2026. From Java plum wood sculptures to video works examining memory and labour\, the selection reveals the conceptual rigour and quiet intensity of one of Southeast Asia’s most significant contemporary artists. \nPresented following Taniguchi’s first survey exhibition at Museum of Contemporary Art and Design (MCAD) Manila\, Afterimage invites audiences to encounter the materiality\, scale\, and rhythm through an intimate exhibition setting at their own pace.

DESCRIPTION:Ascent to the Bamboo Forest — A Dance Travelogue serves as a rare window into a hidden geography of Asia: the mystical highlands of Northern Vietnam. \nFollowing a 2025 performance-lecture\, ARTS FISSION dancers Aisha Lozano\, Marveen Lozano\, Andine Elaina\, and Ignatius Sim have since distilled their initial movement vocabulary into a triptych under the guidance of Angela Liong. The work is a deeply personal contemplation of the reverence for the land\, the sincerity of communal rituals\, and the Traditional Ecological Knowledge gleaned from their time among the mountain villagers. \nIn a departure from traditional scoring\, composer Chua Jon-Lin facilitates a kinetic soundscape where the dancers utilise bamboo culms\, leaves\, and organic materials to generate a live\, rhythmic score that breathes with the movement. \nStep into this transformed clearing and witness a quiet beauty—a way of life and an ancestral wisdom standing on the brink of imminent loss.

From this stillness\, we move forward once again with renewed clarity\, purpose\, and intention\, ready to begin anew with greater depth and direction. \nAt Be One Gallery\, our commitment lies in supporting and promoting artists while fostering meaningful connections between artists\, collectors\, and the wider art community. We aim to cultivate a vibrant and inclusive creative ecosystem that celebrates diversity\, encourages cultural exchange\, and nurtures artistic growth.
