SUMMARY:TERRAINS: A solo exhibition by Yong Wee Loon
DESCRIPTION:TERRAINS: Artist Yong Wee Loon’s practice before\, during and after his 2026 Paris residency. Terrain as inspiration\, not backdrop. \n\n\n\n\nTERRAINS traces the practice of Singapore artist Yong Wee Loon before\, during and after his 2026 residency at the Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts and the Cité Internationale des Arts\, Paris. \nPresented following his recognition as the Singapore and Southeast Asia UOB Painting of the Year 2024 winner\, the exhibition follows an artist who has remained true to the same curiosity while discovering new ways of expressing it. \nThe exhibition unfolds across three named grounds within the House of Tan Yeok Nee: Terra Firma\, the solid ground of ‘nostalgic’ streetscapes rendered with documentary care; Terra Incognita\, a reconstructed Parisian studio where a city of underpasses\, stairwells and passing figures comes into view; and Terra Nova\, new-found ground where that observation resolves into planes\, arcs and ellipses. Terrain\, here\, is not backdrop but material\, a surface absorbed\, slowly\, into a visual language still taking shape. \nGetting to House of Tan Yeok Nee: https://houseoftyn.sg/plan-your-visit/

SUMMARY:LONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 2026 - 19th EDITION
DESCRIPTION:LONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 2026 – 19th EDITION \nOctober 09 – 22\, 2026 \nELEMENTS Contemporary Art Space \n  \nITSLIQUID Group\, in collaboration with YMX Arts\, is pleased to announce the opening of the 19th edition of LONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR. On view from October 09 to October 22\, 2026\, at the central ELEMENTS Contemporary Art Space\, the exhibition brings together international artists working across painting\, sculpture\, photography\, video art\, and performance\, exploring the multisensory dimensions of human consciousness. \n  \nLONDON CONTEMPORARY ART FAIR 2026 analyses the complex relationship between body and space\, investigating the continuous hybridisation between individual identities and the cultural\, physical\, and urban settings of our contemporary era. The selected artists draw inspiration from the evocative power of London\, exploring the connection between desires\, needs\, and fears through rituals that bring humankind to change\, transform and evolve their inner world. \n  \nThis inner journey opens with a meditation on perception itself through Burcu Yildirim Parlak’s “Traces of Light”\, which builds a layered terrain of gestural marks and pastel tones settling like imprints of memory\, fragments of experience surfacing through colour. Carina Rabelbauer pushes this exploration further inward with “Ajna – The Eye”\, an immersive field of blue and gold named after the third eye\, where attention turns from the outer world to the awakening of consciousness within. Read together\, the two pieces form a single arc – from the mark left by experience to the eye that learns to read it – establishing the exhibition’s central premise that awareness is felt through the senses before it is understood. \n  \nFrom this interior gaze\, the exhibition shifts outward to the body’s encounter with the city. Kijoo Bae’s “Lines of Silence” renders the rhythm of urban architecture in a striking black-and-white composition\, where repeated structural patterns become a kind of visual hush – quiet not as absence\, but as order. Lola Llinares answers this stillness with motion and noise: her “Traffic Lights” is a dense\, chromatically charged canvas that channels the pulse and friction of city life – hush and traffic become two faces of the same urban condition\, embodying the show’s inquiry into how the self is shaped\, and hybridised\, by the physical and cultural settings it moves through. \n  \nThe exhibition’s final movement turns to the human figures who inhabit this space. In “Véra\, Isabella et Julia”\, Karole Aubourg lets three distinct presences merge into a single earthy\, textured field\, suggesting how separate selves blur and layer into one another over time\, while Piotr Kulikowski’s “Light of Late Summer” captures a comparable threshold with  \n  \na vibrant\, fiery palette\, holding the fleeting moment when one season gives way to the next. Robert T. Rogers closes this sequence with “Bring It to Pass”\, a luminous work suspended between rose and blue that speaks of passage and becoming – a fitting counterpoint to Kulikowski’s seasonal turn\, both artists picturing change as something gradual\, almost atmospheric. \n  \nAcross these different practices\, a common thread emerges: the self is never fixed\, but continuously written and rewritten by light\, place\, and time.  Among the pieces on view\, the exhibition also features a selection of video artworks (see video program). \n  \nOPENING \nOctober 09\, 2026 | 06:00 PM \nRSVP: info@itsliquid.com \nFree entry – Register here \n  \nEXHIBITION DAYS \nOctober 10 – 22\, 2026 \nTuesday – Saturday | 11.00 AM – 05.00 PM \n  \nELEMENTS Contemporary Art Space \n253 Hoxton Street\, London N1 5LG \n

SUMMARY:Dongpo: Life in Poems
DESCRIPTION:ABOUT THE SHOW\nDirected by world-renowned artist Shen Wei\, Dongpo: Life in Poems is a breathtaking contemporary dance opera that transcends time to explore the soul of the legendary Song Dynasty poet\, Su Dongpo. Through a masterful fusion of contemporary dance\, Chinese opera\, Tai Chi\, and an evocative score co-composed by Chen Qigang\, this production transforms ancient poetry into a visceral\, immersive experience. \nRather than a linear biography\, the performance weaves together 13 selected poems to reveal the universal emotions of the human condition—contemplation\, melancholy\, resilience\, and unrestrained joy. By integrating visual elements of calligraphy\, painting\, and seal engraving\, Shen Wei creates a poetic atmosphere that invites the audience to synchronize their breath with the dancers on stage. \nThis production is a bridge between cultures and eras. It requires no prior knowledge of Chinese history or language; instead\, it speaks the universal language of the body and spirit. Whether you are a fan of contemporary dance or a seeker of profound artistic resonance\, Dongpo: Life in Poems invites you on a spiritual journey to discover the rugged yet broad-minded soul of a poet from a millennium ago\, whose wisdom remains as relevant today as it was in the Song Dynasty. \nExperience the harmony of ancient tradition and modern vision. Come and find your own reflection in the life of Dongpo. \nBiography of Artists / Performers\nShen Wei is an internationally renowned multidisciplinary artist whose career spans dance\, choreography\, painting\, and directing. Since founding “Shen Wei Dance Arts” in New York in 2000\, he has developed the “Natural Body Development” technique\, a methodology now taught at major universities and dance centers globally. His work has been presented in over 40 countries and 140 cities\, establishing him as a pioneering figure in contemporary performance. \nThroughout his career\, Shen Wei has been commissioned by more than 30 major international institutions to create modern dance\, ballet\, opera\, art films\, and installation performances. Notable commissions include works for the Edinburgh International Art Festival\, Lincoln Center Festival\, American Dance Festival\, Berlin Art Festival\, and the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM) Next Wave Festival. He has also collaborated with iconic venues such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art\, The Kennedy Center\, and the Roman Opera House. In 2008\, he served as a director for the “Scroll Painting” section of the Beijing Olympics opening ceremony. His recent immersive projects include “Integrate\,” commissioned by the China Shanghai International Art Festival\, and extensive solo painting exhibitions at the P.S.A. Contemporary Art Museum in Shanghai and other international galleries. \nShen Wei’s contributions have been recognized with numerous prestigious honors\, including the 2004 Nijinsky Award\, the 2007 MacArthur “Genius” Award\, the 2018 John Rockefeller III Achievement Award\, and the 2022 Lifetime Achievement Award at the American Dance Festival.
