“Tomorrow is tomorrow, future cares have future cures, and we must mind today.”
– Sophocles
The ever evolving COVID-19 pandemic has seen drastic changes in our lives: from our mode of work, our interactions with other people, to the conflict and tension between the different aspects of our identity playing out in a confined space. For many, it has altered our plans for the future and strengthened our grasp of the present. This exhibition reflects a culmination of contemplative discussions on the nature of “today” as a concept in limbo with nary a sense of a clear “tomorrow”. The works in this exhibition offer a glimpse into the artists’ navigation of the complexities of these uncertain times, exploring the fragility of our concept of time, the precarious intersection of the various roles we play, and the self-discoveries made in a time of isolation and introspection. Where there may be fear and apprehension of a new day unknown, the works espouse unwavering hope and optimism in how we embrace the time we have today.
