23 September 2021 – “ReTHINGing Gesture in Contemporary Sculptural Practice”
We recently visited “Re-THINGing Gesture in Contemporary Sculptural Practice”, featuring new and recent works by 9 Singaporean artists.
The show is part of Sculpture Society Singapore’s 20th Anniversary programming, framed around the curatorial theme of “reTHINGing Sculpture in Singapore 2021”, in which artists are invited to rethink, or “reTHING”, their practice and explore the boundaries of sculptural and three-dimensional art in contemporary practice.
The artists have taken certainly the brief to heart – their works engage with form, content, concept and medium in a varied and interesting ways – offering the visitor much to delight in and shedding new light on what sculptural practice means today.
The exhibition is on at Jendela Visual Arts Space at the Esplanade from 10 September 2021 – 2 January 2022.
