SUMMARY:The Shape of Us Exhibition
DESCRIPTION:The Shape of Return exhibition on 21 June to 5 July\, 2026\, brings together fifteen Maldivian artists in a single\, distilled narrative moving through myth\, oceanic memory\, ecological fragility\, longing\, and ultimately\, return. The works now gather not as separate pieces\, but as chapters in a shared epic. \nThe Maldives is a place the world thinks it knows: turquoise\, pristine\, suspended in paradise. The Shape of Return looks beneath that surface: at ancestry\, craftsmanship\, folklore\, environmental vulnerability\, and the ongoing negotiation between tradition and modernity in a small island nation shaped equally by story. \nPresented collaboratively by Suvãsthi\, Oaga Art Resort\, and Oevaali Art Gallery\, this exhibition situates Maldivian contemporary art within a broader regional conversation\, while remaining firmly rooted in its oceanic heritage.
