Supported by Wastra Indonesia and Design Orchard, this presentation highlights the blurring definitions and roles of artists and artisans. Artists offer ready-to-wear products to sustain their art practice and artisans incorporate new techniques and ideas for niche clients.

Featuring five individuals/collectives who embody this hybrid identity, they demonstrate that roles of artists and artisans are not mutually exclusive. Each side brings unique perspectives to art making that is based on traditional values and a pursuit for technical expertise. Artistry and craftsmanship can, not only co-exist, but enrich one another.
