Homologue

Homologue refers to a degree of correspondence.

With ‘homo’ referring to sameness and ‘logue’ hinting at a sense of categorisation, the scope of this exhibition ponders on notions of belonging-hood.

So, where do we come from? What do we reflect on ourselves? What are we alike?

Taking these as starting points for biomorphic inspirations, the exhibition draws parallels between earthly landscapes and the feminine form to reimagine our origins. By utilising the bodily in synthesis with processes of budding, blossoming and dying, we present a terrain of visual metaphors to reflect on our natural personifications.

With a series of drawings, sculptures, images and installations, let’s confront the complexity of our natural-human entanglements amidst the lush tropics of Turf City at the newly relocated Kult Cafe.

The exhibition opens with a drum circle initiated by Jungle Flow Music to remind us of our innate natural rhythms. Experience your hands on traditional medicine instruments like Djembe, Digeridoo, Native American Flutes, Handpan and more, as we come together in this celebratory gathering.
