Co-developed by Esplanade – Theatres on the Bay with applied theatre practitioner and counsellor Rosie McGowan, INTERMISSION is a programme that supports the wellbeing of those in the arts. An intermission allows performers to sustain themselves in a long show. Similarly, the programme aims to provide a safe space for the arts and creative community to reflect, connect, and learn tools for their wellbeing.
The second day of INTERMISSION presents participants with an opportunity to deep-dive into the ABCs (Acceptance, Bravery, Compassion) of wellbeing through an art form of their choice—music, drama, or movement.
While this is an immersive and experiential full-day session led by credentialed therapists, it is not a therapy session. However, participants will gain insights and respite through reflective activities that may be therapeutic in nature.
We welcome all artists, practitioners, and administrators across all creative disciplines, including but not limited to visual arts, theatre, dance, music, and film.
Spots are limited to facilitate meaningful participation. Please register your interest by completing this form and we will follow up in three working days via email. Kindly note that a submission of interest is not a confirmation of participation.
Participants are welcome to join either or both days of INTERMISSION. Click to find out more about Day 1.
