PhotoART is about engaging all the senses through photography. PhotoARTist Cliffy (https://www.cliffy.online/) is dedicated to pushing traditional photography boundaries by inviting the viewer to re-imagine reality, through the creation of immersive experiences using the photographic image. He invites you to a unique PhotoART Exhibition & PhotoART Pairing Experience at DAO by Dorsett AMTD Singapore from 12 – 30 July 2024.
In addition to the photography on exhibit, Cliffy introduces PhotoART Pairing, which emphasises sensory engagement by combining visual art with tactile, gustatory, and auditory elements. The visual image draws viewers into its narrative, opening a world that the viewer fills with their speculation, interpretation, and imagination. The tactile experience comes from feeling the different textured surfaces of the artistic papers on which the image is printed and adds a visceral connection to the photography. The gustatory dimension: Cliffy introduces the viewer to ‘pair’ the photographic image with a specially selected drink – whether it’s a glass of red wine complementing the warm tones of the artwork or a citrus-infused drink highlighting sharp vibrant colors, or a calming cup of tea that enhances the atmosphere. Finally, the auditory enhancement comes from a selection of music tracks for each photographic image, to amplify emotional resonance, evoking specific emotions and heightening the overall impact of the narrative.
About the artist:
Cliffy is a photographer and educator, with more than 30 years’ experience in Singapore’s media and education sectors. He holds a degree in film and television production from Montana State University and worked in television, film, photography and education, His first solo exhibition was held at the Arts House in 2022.
