Learn about the many expressions of freedom in collage from an artist’s perspective. Explore collage making techniques and make your own.
Held in conjunction with PHUNK@30 Anniversary Exhibition, observe collages as an example of a technique (paper tearing) that is liberating. PHUNK‘s collage style is based on posters in public areas being torn off the wall and replaced with the next poster.
Collage artist Joanna Maneckji will share her personal experience of freedom offered by the art form of collage, reflecting on mindsets, techniques and competence. Then join the artist in a collage-making session and take home your own creation.
All materials will be provided, but feel free to bring your own saved paper collection if you wish. Magazines, photos, maps and brochures are all welcome.
