Ben and Weng Choy
Ben Valentine and Lee Weng Choy writing collaboratively.
For the last ten years Ben has published, presented, and organised events around the world and is deeply committed to sharing with a wide audience. Having lived in Cambodia for five years, Ben helped run Sammaki, a community art center with a focus on the environment, and organized public programs for SA SA BASSAC, the country’s leading contemporary art gallery. Ben has done similar work on three continents. Now with an infant son, Ben is back in Indiana working for Landmark Columbus Foundation.
Ben worked as a staff writer for several years for Hyperallergic and San Francisco Arts Quarterly. Additional publications include Salon, Los Angeles Review of Books, VICE, and many more. Everywhere I go, I’m inspired by local wildlife and local artists alike.
Lee Weng Choy writes the Ask a Critic column for Plural Art Mag. He is president of the Singapore Section of the International Association of Art Critics, and was formerly Artistic Co-Director of The Substation. He has taught at the School of the Art Institute of Chicago, the Chinese University of Hong Kong, and the Sotheby’s Institute of Art, Singapore. Besides working as a consultant for A+ Works of Art, Weng Choy has done project work with ILHAM Gallery, NTU Centre for Contemporary Art Singapore, and the National Gallery Singapore, among other arts organisations.
