Born in Hanoi, Vietnam, Duong is a multi-disciplinary creative with a background in Theatre and Fine Arts. She explores the intersections between contemporary art and social response in her various roles as an artist, lecturer, writer, researcher and regional representative. Duong works with practice-based research and education. She creates art and theatre works that reflect social cohesion, community identity, and the interaction between humans and nature. Through the questions she asks in her work, Duong aims to find answers to social issues. Growing up in a developing country, Duong comes face-to-face with problems like environmental destruction, gender and racial discrimination every day. She is committed towards creating critical work that advocates for artists and vulnerable communities.
