Verve 2023 returns with a youthful theme, “You’re Only Young Once! (YOYO)” presenting multidisciplinary and literary arts programmes for all youth, families and ages! Extensive programmes range from Contemporary Dance, Live Poetry, Comic workshops, Vocal performances, Puppetry etc. YOYO aims to present literary arts in multi-disciplinary and creative ways, to evoke perception in our audience through an impactful experience at the festival.
YOYO seeks to create an atmosphere that encourages the reflection of our youth, cherishing the present moment and embracing our inner childlike spirit. Ultimately, our festival offers a vibrant and enriching experience, balancing the exploration of challenges and growth, with celebrating the freedom and joys of youth!
- Verve is a non-profit student-led multidisciplinary arts festival organised annually by Arts Business Management (ABM) students from the School of Humanities & Social Sciences at Ngee Ann Polytechnic.
- Launched in 2011, Verve was established as a vocational learning activity through which Year 2 ABM students could experience organising, planning, and running a public arts event to help better prepare them for working life. This year will witness the thirteenth edition of Verve. It seeks to be a platform for the local arts and artists, to foster socially engaged art-making that promotes positive change in our community.
- This year, the festival will be held in collaboration with The Arts House as our venue sponsor, on 9 December 2023 (Saturday), from 11 am-9 pm.
